Internationally, air and vessel transport are regulated by the International Cival Aviation Organization and the International Maritime Organizaton. Both the US DOT and ICAO require oeriodic training for individuals involved in any aspect of the transportation of hazardous materials. Companies inolved in HazMat transportation need to be sure that their employees have the skills necessary to ensure that hazardous materials are properly packaged, marked and labeled to avoid accidents and costly enforcement and litigation. All courses can be custom tailored to meet the specific needs of your company and products and are offered at your site to minimize disruption and expense. Each course incorporates the required testing on the material covered and a Certificate of training is provided for all passing participants. She has been consulting in the areas of Industrial Hygiene and Safety since 1981. Her clients have included universities, health care facilities, paper, pharmaceutical, chemical and biomedical manufacturers, electrical manufacturers, steel producers, metal working shops, and artists. Prior to consulting, Ms. Deeds held industrial hygiene positions with Westinghouse Electric and General Electric. She has worked in the area of Hazardous Materials Transportation for the past ten years providing clients with classification, packaging, labeling assistance. She has also served as the Hazardous Materials information specialist for several companies providing assistance during HazMat incidents. She is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the American Academy of Industrial Hygiene and the Society for Chemical Hazard Communication, where she serves as Secretary/Treasurer.
