Hazardous Materials Transportation Services

The US Department of Transportation regulates the transportation of hazardous materials in the United States. Internationally, air and vessel transport are regulated by the International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Maritime Organization. To assure compliance with the regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials (dangerous goods), products must be correctly evaluated and assigned to hazard classes as appropriate. Failing to identify a product as hazardous for transportation can result in injury, property loss and significant fines and other penalties.

IH&SC staff are fully qualified in applying the DOT, IATA, IMDG and ADR Regulations to the shipment of your materials. We will assess your products and assign their hazard classification and Proper Shipping Name. We can also assist you in selection of packaging, in marking and labeling you packages and even placcarding your shipments.

IH&SC can develop a comprehensive transportation classification and shipping program for your facility or audit your existing program.
