Indoor Air Quality Preliminary Assessment

IH&SC conducts a preliminary assessment as the first step of an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) evaluation. This preliminary assessment includes the following elements:

• A survey of the building occupants.
• An evaluation of indoor environmental conditions, including:
   
  • Temperature
  • Relative Humidity
  • Carbon Dioxide Levels
  • Carbon Monoxide Levels
  • Microbiological Contamination
    
• A visual inspection of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system.

The product of the preliminary assessment will be a written report that includes a summary, any conclusions that can be drawn, and recommendations for further action. Further actions could include remedial measures such as ventilation system modifications, or additional sampling to identify specific contaminants.

The cost of the preliminary assessment will vary depending upon the size of the building. The cost of additional assessments or sampling, if required, can be estimated after the preliminary assessment is complete.
