Senior Consultant
Responsible for managing IH&SC’s asbestos, lead paint and PCB remediation services. Conducts building inspections, provides recommendations for managing hazardous building materials, develops abatement specifications, and monitors abatement projects. Supervises, reviews, and approves similar work performed by other IH&SC personnel. Manages and delivers IH&SC’s EPA and Connecticut approved asbestos training programs. Clients include architects, municipalities, schools, utilities, real estate managers, construction companies, universities, health care facilities, and manufacturers. Project examples include:
- Asbestos management programs for public and private schools, hospitals, and manufacturing facilities.
- Pre-construction building inspections for asbestos and lead paint
- Specifications and drawings for abatement projects ranging in cost from less than $1,000 to over $3,000,000
- Project management and monitoring for abatement projects ranging in cost from less than $1,000 to over $3,000,000
- EPA and Connecticut-approved training courses for Asbestos Workers, Supervisors, Project Monitors, Inspectors, and Management Planners
- Participated in the Department of Public Health working group that developed the Connecticut asbestos abatement regulations

Staff Engineer
Responsible for developing technical procedures and for preparing and delivering technical training programs. Technical procedures included:
- Operating procedures for petroleum pipeline pump stations and control centers
- Maintenance procedures for mechanical and electrical equipment

Radiological Safety Coordinator
Assigned to field operations in the Stone & Webster Office of Radiological Safety to provide both in-house and client services. In-house radiological safety program responsibilities included:
- Auditing radiographers for compliance with Stone & Webster's radiological safety program
- Evaluating the radiological safety aspects of Stone & Webster field operations at commercial nuclear power plants
- Providing radiological safety training for Stone & Webster engineering and radiography personnel
Consulting responsibilities for Stone & Webster clients included:
- Developing emergency response plans and procedures for nuclear power plants
- Training power station and corporate emergency response personnel
- Developing emergency response drill and exercise scenarios
United States Navy 1973 -1979
Reactor Operator, ET1 (SS)
Qualified as reactor operator and nuclear instrumentation & controls (I&C) technician on one prototype training unit and two nuclear submarines. Participated in the startup test program on the USS Birmingham (SSN 695) and was the reactor operator for the initial criticality of Birmingham’s nuclear power plant. Supervised six other reactor operators / I&C technicians as Birmingham’s Reactor Controls Division Leading Petty Officer.
